Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kejriwal have not appeared before the investigating agency even after being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) thrice in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. AAP leaders say that Arvind Kejriwal can be arrested. Meanwhile, information about the allegations made by ED against Kejriwal has also come to light.

In the Delhi Liquor Policy case, ED has told about five such points on the basis of which the investigating agency wants to interrogate Kejriwal. In this, everything from the meeting regarding liquor policy at Kejriwal’s house to the money received by the party has been mentioned.

Amidst all this, discussion has also started that ED can send another notice to Delhi CM on Thursday (January 4). In such a situation, let us know in five points what allegations the ED has made against Kejriwal.

What are the charges against Arvind Kejriwal?

  • ED investigation has revealed that ‘Proceed of Crime’ During this period, Rs 338 crore has reached Aam Aadmi Party. In fact, during the hearing on Manish Sisodia’s bail in the Supreme Court, ED had placed a money trail of Rs 338 crore before the court. In this it was being proved that during the liquor policy, Rs 338 crore had reached the Aam Aadmi Party from the liquor mafia. Arvind Kejriwal is the patron of the party, so it is necessary to interrogate him.
  • Indospirit director Sameer Mahendru, accused in the liquor policy case or rather the excise case, told the ED during interrogation that Vijay Nair, very close to Arvind Kejriwal, had made him meet the Delhi CM through Face Time app. In this, Arvind Kejriwal had told him that Vijay Nair is his man and he should trust Nair.
  • A meeting regarding the new liquor policy was also held at Arvind Kejriwal’s house. Some prominent leaders and people participated in this meeting. Based on this also, ED wants to interrogate Kejriwal.
  • Manish Sisodia’s then secretary C Arvind told during interrogation that the excise policy had a margin profit of 6%, which was increased to 12% only with the approval of Arvind Kejriwal. That means Arvind Kejriwal also had a role in making the excise policy.
  • The cabinet meeting that was held regarding the new excise policy is called by the Chief Minister. Somewhere in this way the strings of excise policy matter are directly connected to Arvind Kejriwal.

ED wants to interrogate Arvind Kejriwal on the basis of these five points. According to news agency PTI, a fourth notice may soon be sent to Kejriwal, who has not responded to the three notices. At present, the anti-money laundering agency is investigating the five-page reply sent by Kejriwal on Wednesday. ED ‘Prevention of Money Laundering’ Under the law, Delhi can also send a fourth notice to the CM.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister YS Sharmila joined Congress on Thursday (04-01-2024). He took membership of the party in the presence of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi.

Sharmila’s joining Congress will strengthen the party in Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila is the sister of Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. As soon as he joined Congress, he also announced the merger of his party YSR Telangana with Congress.

Sharmila said that my father’s dream was that Rahul Gandhi should become the Prime Minister, I am happy that I will work for it. Sharmila said that as a Christian, she was deeply saddened by the Manipur violence. This is what will happen if the secular party is not in power.

YS Sharmila is the daughter of former Andhra CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Rajasekhara Reddy was in Congress. He died in a plane crash when he was CM. After her death, when the party did not make Sharmila’s brother Jagan Mohan Reddy the CM, Jagan Mohan formed his own party YSR Congress.

Initially Sharmila became the YSR Congress Party convenor and campaigned in Andhra along with her brother and mother. In 2021, due to differences with his brother, he broke ties with YSR Congress and formed a new party YSR Telangana Party in Telangana.

Who is Y. S. Sharmila?

Y. S. Sharmila is an Indian politician and the sister of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Y.S. Sharmila belongs to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), the same political party as her brother.

Yeduguri Sandinti Sharmila Reddy (born 1974), also known as Y. S. Sharmila, is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress. She is the younger sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the daughter of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Y. S. Vijayamma. She worked as the party convener for the YSR Congress Party.

Political career of Y. S. Sharmila

Early political career
Sharmila made headlines after she took up campaigning on behalf of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) along with her mother Y. S. Vijayamma, in the absence of her elder brother Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy from June 2012 in Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP won 15 of the 18 assembly seats and 1 of 1 Parliament seat for which the by-elections were held.

Sharmila began her 3,000 km-walkathon (1,900 mi) at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on 18 October 2012. She completed it on 4 August 2013 in Ichchapuram. She toured 14 districts as part of the walkathon.

Before the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, Sharmila undertook an 11-day bus Yatra across Andhra Pradesh in branded buses with a “Bye Bye Babu” timer clock, suggesting that it was time for the then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The campaign under the name “Praja Theerpu – Bye Bye Babu” covered 1,553 km (965 mi) and 39 public addresses. She also handed out over 20,000 autographed caps.[citation needed]

YSR Telangana Party
In February 2021, Sharmila stated that she had political differences with her brother, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is the founder of the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party, and claimed there was no presence of the party in the state of Telangana.

On 9 April 2021, Sharmila had announced that she would launch a new political party on 8 July 2021 in Telangana. She chose the date because it is the birth date of her father, Rajasekhara Reddy. Ahead of the party’s launch, she has started campaigning against the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government.

On 8 July 2021, she announced the formation of the YSR Telangana Party.

During November 2023, Y.S. Sharmila declared that her party would abstain from participating in the Telangana Legislative Assembly election. She delivered this announcement to the media at an event in Hyderabad. Sharmila acknowledged the electoral potential for the Congress party and underscored that their aim was not to undermine the Congress but rather to pledge support if the Congress were to assume power, ensuring the successful implementation of their policies.

Return to Congress Party

Sharmila joined and merged her party into the Indian National Congress on 4 January 2024 in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

Personal life

Sharmila was born into a Reddy political-business family to Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Vijayamma in Hyderabad She has two children. Sharmila has an elder brother Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. She resides in Hyderabad.

Under this agreement, Ukraine has released 248 Russian soldiers. This agreement between Russia and Ukraine has been possible due to the mediation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a statement, “Thanks to the mediation of the UAE, Ukraine has released 248 captured Russian soldiers.”

The Defense Ministry said, on January 3, after much effort, Ukraine released the soldiers. We appreciate the efforts made by the UAE for humanity. Army aircraft will be sent to the released soldiers and they will be treated.

Russia to ‘swap’ troops Are you not averse to it?

For the first time, Ukraine and Russia are talking at the level of agreement in the midst of a fierce war for almost 2 years. The attitude of both the countries regarding war has become softer than before. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said, “We are not against an exchange of captured soldiers with Ukraine, we have no qualms if the Red Cross mediates this.”

How many soldiers did Russia leave?

Russia has released 230 Ukrainian soldiers under this agreement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Twitter, “We have freed 230 soldiers from Russian captivity.” Although this is not happening for the first time. Even before this, such a deal has been made 48 times in which Ukraine has released about 2500 soldiers from Russia, but this is the first time that a deal for the release of soldiers on such a large scale has been made.

Every year about four and a half lakh road accidents occur in India, in which one and a half lakh people die. 25 to 30 thousand people lose their lives in hit and run cases.

Now the government has made strict rules in the hit and run case in the Indian Judicial Code (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023). Truck and bus drivers across the country have come out on the streets in protest against this law. Drivers from all the states including Delhi, UP, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan are on strike.

First understand the meaning of hit and run

‘Hit and Run’ It is a type of road accident in which after a vehicle collides with another vehicle, person or thing, the driver runs away from the place for fear of being caught, without stopping or trying to help.

For example, if a vehicle hits or crushes a person and then the driver runs away from the accident site without helping the injured person. This is a criminal matter. Laws have been made to prevent such incidents. But now the law has been made more strict than before.

Difference in hit and run law before and now

President Draupadi Murmu recently told the Parliament Three new criminal justice bills were passed and approved. These three MLAs have now become laws. Soon these new laws will replace the old laws of IPC. Of these, one of the provisions of the Indian Judicial Code is ‘Hit and Run’. is being opposed. Earlier, according to the old law, in case of hit and run, if there was negligent driving, causing death of someone due to negligence or endangering someone’s life, action was taken under sections 279, 304A, 338, in which the maximum punishment of two years in jail. There is provision. Not only this, the accused person also gets bail immediately.

Now, under Section 104(2) of the Indian Judicial Code, strict action will be taken against the accused in the hit and run case. If a person dies due to carelessness or rash driving and the accused driver absconds from the spot without informing the police, then he can get a punishment of up to 10 years. You may also have to pay a fine of Rs 7 lakh. Even if the accused driver does not run away from the accident site, he can be sentenced to up to five years in prison. Both the cases are non-bailable and the most important thing is that the accused driver will not get bail from the police station.

Why are hit and run cases increasing in India?

If we look at the latest data released by the Union Transport Ministry, we find that there have been 17 percent more cases of hit and run in 2022 as compared to 2021. The number of deaths among these was 17 percent more than last year. The number of injured has also increased by 20 percent.

Since 2005, about four and a half lakh road accidents are happening every year in India. Just in 2020, this figure had gone below four lakhs when the nationwide lockdown was imposed. At that time there were 3 lakh 72 thousand 181 accidents in the country, in which 1,38,383 people lost their lives.

Demands and arguments of the protesting drivers

Drivers across the country are protesting against the new provision made in the law. All India Truck Drivers Organization has called for a strike. Their demand is that their strike will continue until the government withdraws the new law on hit and run. Till then he will not drive bus or truck. The transport system has come to a standstill in many states. Transport traders are also opposing the new transport rules.

The protesters protesting across the country against the new provision in the law have different arguments. He says what will happen to his family if he is put in jail for five or ten years. On the allegation of running away from the spot after a road accident, the protesting driver argues that if he does not run away from the accident spot, the mob will attack him and may even kill him. Often the crowd becomes furious after road accidents.

Some protesting drivers also claim that the government has resorted to ‘hit and run’ tactics. Strict provisions have been made in this matter on the lines of foreign countries, but before this the government needs to focus on better road and transport system in India like abroad.

What is the law in developed countries like America, Japan

Hit and run cases also occur in developed countries like America and Japan. According to an article by American law firm Justia, it is a crime in America to leave the accident site under any circumstances after a road accident. Here the laws of different states are different. Leaving the scene of an accident without notifying the police can result in license cancellation, jail time, and a fine of up to $20,000.

According to NHTSA, fatal hit-and-run cases in the US increased by 89.4 percent from 2012 to 2021. Cases increased by 89.4% from 1469 in 2012 to 2783 in 2021. However, in America the number of deaths due to hint and run is very less. In the year 2016, the maximum number of deaths was 2049. However, if we look at all the small and big hit-and-run cases here, the figure is much higher than India. On average, more than seven lakh cases are registered every year.

According to the Road Traffic Act in Japan, if a car driver hits a person on the road and that person is seriously injured or dies, the accused can be sentenced to a maximum of 7 years in prison. Or a fine of up to 1 million yen can be imposed. However, if the other person has not suffered serious injury, one may be exempted from punishment. Compared to America, Germany and France, there are very few road accidents in Japan. Here in the year 2020, only 3416 people lost their lives in road accidents.

India is far behind compared to developed countries like America, Japan, Norway, Sweden. Here the number of deaths due to hint and run is very high. According to experts, the main reason for the high number of hit and run cases in India is carelessness and irresponsible behavior. Most people do not follow road rules. Such as wearing seat belts, overspeeding and drunk driving.

ISRO launches ‘X-ray Polarimeter Satellite’ (ExpoSat) mission was launched at 9.10 am on January 1. After reaching the Moon in 2023 through Chandrayaan-3 mission and starting the journey to the Sun through Aditya L-1 mission, ISRO has taken its first step in the space sector this year.

ISRO said that the first mission of the year was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. With the launch of the mission, India has become the second country in the world to send a specialized astronomy observatory into space to study black holes and neutron stars. Exposat is a kind of observatory for research, which will gather more information about black holes and neutron stars from space.

Satellite will be installed in lower earth orbit

US space agency NASA to launch ‘Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer’ in 2021 (IXPE) was launched. Through this, currently black holes and other things present in space are being studied. Exposat has been sent into space through the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. Exopasat satellite has been sent into space through PSLV rocket. This satellite will be installed in low Earth orbit, from where the distance to the Earth is 650 km.

What is the purpose of the Exposat mission?

Talking about the vision of the mission, Dr. Varun Bhalerao, astrophysicist, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, said, this is the second mission of its kind after NASA’s 2021 mission called Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer or IXPE. This mission will try to understand dead stars. With the help of X-ray photons and polarization, Exosat will study radiation near black holes and neutron stars.

Dr. Varun Bhalerao told that black hole is the object present in the universe which has the highest gravitational force, while neutron stars have the highest density. India will try to reveal the most unique secrets of Brahman through this mission. Apart from Exposat, the Indian Space Agency has also sent a module named POEM into space.

The organization was founded in 2004 and is part of the larger Kashmiri separatist movement that seeks autonomy or independence for the region.

Led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a prominent Kashmiri separatist leader, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has been a key player in articulating the political aspirations of those advocating for Kashmiri self-determination.
